Has been in cracking form since returning from a long absence this year, winning three and second on his other two starts. Defied a further rise in the weights to win at Chepstow last time, albeit rather gifted an easy lead. Folly to ignore.
Hasn't run a poor race all year, and built on an excellent second at Sandown (1¼m) when beating Roy Rocket over 1m3½f at Windsor last time. All out there, but a 2lb rise is very fair on balance.
Went the wrong way after winning over hurdles for Oliver Sherwood, and although not discredited back on the Flat for Richard Hannon at Lingfield in March, he's easy enough to oppose starting out for a new yard after a lengthy break.
Remains a maiden, although twice placed for current yard, including at Les Landes in Jersey last time. Claims if that form taken at face value, but others more persuasive.
Has had excuses on occasion for new yard having left Marco Botti, including on ground softer than ideal last time. Claims on his penultimate third at Newmarket, but he can look an awkward ride, and may not be one to trust implicitly.
Gained his third win of the season over an extended 1m3f at Leicester in July, and ran at least as well when second of 8 to Harmonise at Windsor last time. Kept on well there, and should give another solid account.
Hasn't gone on since a promising reappearance at Newbury, and now more than four years since her only win, but possible to excuse latest effort as she is unprove on soft ground. Place claims if bouncing back.
Well beaten in three starts this year, the first two for another trainer, although has fallen below last winning mark which came for this yard in October. May have needed the run last time, and not a huge surprise to see him do better.
Won off 5lb lower at Bath in June, and a couple of creditable efforts since, so may be best to ignore a modest effort at Windsor last time when she was at a tactical disadvantage.
Still a maiden, and while he improved on a poor reappearance effort when 8¼L third of 9 to Tigerskin at Ffos Las recently, he will need to do better again to get involved from out of the handicap here.
Forecasts
Seaborn (5/2), Miss Blondell (7/2), Affluence (5/1), Broad Appeal (11/2), Lyrica's Lion (9/1), Miss M (10/1), Galactic Spirit (16/1), Hidden Depths (20/1), Cheeky Rascal (22/1), Good Impression (25/1)
Broad Appeal and Seaborn have not been harshly dealt with by the handicapper for recent wins, and should continue to be of interest, but marginal preference is for AFFLUENCE, who is a much-improved performer since fitted with cheekpieces, and remains in a very fair mark after a solid effort in defeat at Windsor last time. Lyrica's Lion is out of form, but isn't long back with Sheena West, and is now 5lb lower than when winning for this yard in the autumn.
- Affluence
- Broad Appeal
