Given a wind op after his three-race 2yo career (ran best race on soft over 1m1f). Best form in handicaps this year has come on soft ground, back to form last time (fourth to a thriving sort); still relatively fresh but better off in handicaps.
Gelded prior to his debut (wore tongue-tie; retained) he offered something to work on when third at Hamilton (1m, good). Now drops 1f for his second start, could have a future in handicaps once he gains a mark.
Made one appearance for Richard Hannon when already gelded for his debut before switching to his current yard (makes his debut). Cost £85,000 yearling, he offered something to work on at Haydock (form franked); interesting sort with more experience.
Starting to look exposed but could put his experience to good use with his front-running style likely to be useful around this sharp track especially reverting to 7f. Ran well over C&D on his second start; dangerous if handed a soft lead.
Well held on her only start in Ireland back in June 2018 when with Andrew Oliver the change of stables makes her of obvious interest. Hard to support on form; did look a longer term prospect, market would need to be positive about her.
Both starts have been of similar quality, showing that she has ability without being one who was going to make an immediate dramatic impact. Stepped up to this trip last time on the AW she was given a fairly easy time; leading candidate.

Forecasts
Morning Duel (11/8), Sloane Garden (5/2), Modakhar (11/2), Al Suil Eile (6/1), Blistering Barney (16/1), Anyonecanbeastar (20/1), Yer Tekkin Mick (20/1)
Having shown a little more last time Sloane Garden is among the more likely types in this although she didn’t show much more than on her debut on the Polytrack last time and may have to settle for another place. Her trainer (James Tate) does have a good record here though going 8-21 with his runners at the track. MORNING DUEL reverts to non-handicap company having put up a good performance last time on his handicap debut against his elders; his attacking run style could be lethal over this C&D. Modakhar and Anyonecanbeastar are a fascinating pair of runners for their new stables; the former emerging from a Haydock novice that looks strong form.
- Morning Duel
- Sloane Garden
- Modakhar
