Made all to win both a Brighton maiden and an Ascot nursery (both 6f) on fast ground, but then flopped at Goodwood. Bounced back with a second at Ripon and showed a willing attitude. Interesting back in a handicap on AW debut.
Front runner has peaked in two of his last three starts with a Leicester win over 7f and a latest third over a mile at Windsor. Didn't seem to stay there and suited by drop in trip on AW debut.
C&D winner on his second start and showed improved form when following up at Newbury. Has run good fifths in valuable handicaps at Goodwood and York since and very likely to go close.
Beaten by 4L into second on debut and then turned over as a 1/4f at Chepstow when second again. Justified odds-on favouritism to get off the mark at Wolverhampton and now gelded ahead of handicap debut. Weighted to go well.
Seemed to relish the switch to this C&D with a commanding victory here recently and now up 9lb. Form looks trustworthy as it was run in a decent time and could be up to the rise in weight.
Disappointing run on sole AW start in a Kempton maiden two starts back but ran well despite not a clear run on handicap debut on fast ground at Yarmouth. This is tougher but if she takes to the surface she could go well.
Forecasts
Hard Nut (2/1), Making History (9/4), X Force (7/2), Eton College (7/1), Champagne Supanova (7/1), Taste The Nectar (12/1)
Six runners and very much six closely matched contenders. HARD NUT has been highly tried recently and he could be better than this level in due course. We know Champagne Supanova is suited by this C&D and that gives him a competitive edge while X Force is on an attractive opening mark and could improve for a gelding operation.
