Won twice in similar races since joining his current yard and much respected despite top weight and a 5lb penalty for an easy win at Catterick 11 days ago. 0-6 on the AW but placed twice in three runs here so another bold attempt highly likely.
C&D winner on 2019 seasonal debut and back on the same mark after three lacklustre performances on turf. However, she needs a strong pace and, with no obvious front runner in the line up, the tempo of the race might not be ideal.
C&D winner (Class 6 handicap) in February and very lightly raced since; only 4lb higher and best efforts on the Flat posted at this course too. Off since April but not much to fear if on his 'A-game' after the short break. Player.
Won twice on turf for his former yard and potentially well handicapped in comparison to his 2017 form. However, he's been regressive this season and has a bit to prove on his first run after wind surgery. Does get on well with this jockey, though.
Won an amateur riders race over hurdles at Worcester last week and reverts to the Flat from just 4lb higher than his course win (1m4f) last month. That was his first run in an eye shield and beaten over C&D since; but not ruled out in weaker race.
Has a good record at this course and stays the trip well; raced exclusively at Wolverhampton since returning from a 582-day absence earlier in the year. Yet to recapture his best form but still dangerous to rule out from a competitive mark.
Modest form in two previous runs in handicaps - from just five career starts so far - and needs to improve greatly for the switch to Tapeta and step up in trip. Visor being added for the first time an additional concern. Others have less to prove.
Seven-time course winner who retains his enthusiasm despite now being in the twilight of his career; was behind Fern Owl over 1m4f here last month but this stiffer test of stamina suits. Positive jockey booking and can go close again.
On a 23-race losing run (turf and AW combined) since May 2017 and has limited experience of racing at this particular course. Deserted by Serena Brotherton, who was in the plate at Ripon last time out, and is another who needs a lot to go his way.
Won a seller over hurdles for Dan Skelton but lost her way in that sphere and made little impression when switched back to the Flat on debut for her new yard earlier in the month. Others offer more convincing profiles.
Best run for a while posted when fourth in a seller at Brighton last time out; but the trip is a concern as he's only been placed over C&D in the past and never actually won at this distance. Would be a surprise were he to be good enough.
Won a modest race over 1m4f at Lingfield in June but not made much impact in three starts since. Well beaten over this trip last time out and needs to prove the distance is within his capacity.
Forecasts
Percy Prosecco (5/2), Tour de Paris (3/1), Fern Owl (6/1), Geomatrician (8/1), Ebqaa (9/1), Yasir (10/1), Highway Robbery (10/1), Earthly (16/1), Sellingallthetime (22/1), Uncle Bernie (33/1), Punkawallah (33/1), Angel Of The North (50/1)
This course has brought the best out of TOUR DE PARIS so far and the gelding, who has been freshened up by a break since April, has been found a decent opportunity to make an immediate impact on his return. Several others have sound claims on the pick of their efforts and support for the likes of Percy Prosecco and Fern Owl would have solid foundations. Yasir is another who likes this course and his consistency is admirable enough for him to be considered as a prime candidate to make the frame too.
- Tour de Paris
