Seven-race maiden on the Flat, perhaps did too much on the front end in recent hurdling bow at Killarney (2m1f, yielding to soft). Respected connections and should do better in time.
Showed some glimpses of ability on the Flat, though hardly progressive in five starts. Turns attention to jumping now and booking of Danny Mullins a positive one.
Twice a winner on the Flat at up to a mile, including at this course last year. Well held at Galway last time but useful performer could have a future over jumps and is noted here on debut.
Has jumped well enough in maidens at Roscommon and Ballinrobe since going over flights, will have to improve on form of latest fourth to make the frame.
Twice placed since going over timber, including runner-up at Ballinrobe (2m1f, soft; 5-2f) earlier this month, with a couple of these behind. Looks the pick of Gordon Elliott's pair in this.
Won a Dundalk maiden on the AW over a mile in February on second start but gone backwards since, including Galway debut for this trainer (tailed off) this month. Plenty to work on now diverting focus to hurdles.
Son of Scat Daddy, showed ability on the Flat for Ed Dunlop in Britain. Interesting recruit to the Stuart Crawford team and worth a closer look in the betting.
Maiden on the Flat, showed more when going jumping for the first time at Roscommon this month, finishing fourth in 16-runner maiden. Extra yardage offered now and interesting to see if that effort is built on.
Winner at the sixth time of asking when landing a Gowran Park handicap over 1m1½f in June. Well held since, now goes over obstacles for the first time. Work to do with some of these on Flat form.
Nine races on the Flat yielded now success and a lowly rating, will really need to step things up considerably to make a splash on first start over timber.
Fair sort on the Flat, consistent despite just one win from 10 attempts in Britain; in very capable hands now going jumping and would be noted should market speak in his favour.
Dual Flat winner, not achieving as much as some of these rivals but she arrives here off the back of a pleasing second at Tramore (1m4f) and could have more to offer in this code.
Canford Cliffs filly, not beaten far in third on hurdling debut at Ballinrobe (2m1f, soft) this month. Closely matched with Global Freedom (second) on that run and ought to build on it now.
Forecasts
Laura Bullion (11/4), Olympic Honour (4/1), Colfer Me (4/1), Global Freedom (5/1), Theatre Of War (10/1), Champagne Terri (10/1), Clashaniska (16/1), Clemencia (20/1), Leahman (20/1), Khanmurjan (33/1), Doyouthinkso (40/1), Slainte (50/1), Isosceles (50/1)
Colfer Me is an obvious contender given his ability at best on the Flat, and he represents a top yard now embarking on a jumps career. He does need to prove his stamina however and so preference is for Gordon Elliott's GLOBAL FREEDOM, twice placed since going over jumps and holding fair claims of going on better than this month's Ballinrobe effort. The selection's stablemate Clashaniska isn't dismissed while Laura Bullion also should be in the fray having finished close to the selection on her first start over hurdles.
- Global Freedom
- Laura Bullion
- Colfer Me
