Has plenty of ability, winner on both the Flat and over hurdles, successful at Ffos Las last month. Ran perfectly well at Kempton on the Flat last week and if staying this new trip (which he should), has every chance of scoring again.

Veteran that has shown next to nothing, and hasn't been seen out for over 2½ years. Makes no appeal.

£50,000 purchase in the spring of last year after winning his only point-to-point start. Half-brother to useful hurdler Schiaparannie and makes hurdling debut at a realistic level. Slight concern he's not been seen before now, but one to watch.

Still a maiden after 18 starts under all codes, and showed nowhere near enough on hurdles debut at Wetherby last November to think he's up to threatening the principals here.

Half-brother to four winners including the yard's useful staying hurdler Some Kinda Lama, so possibly no surprise he didn't improve much in his four bumper starts. Worth a look in the market for any support on hurdles debut tonight.

Moderate for Mick Appleby on the Flat, winning a couple of minor events Has joined new yard after being sold for £4,000 at Doncaster Sales this month but makes little appeal on hurdling debut.

Forecasts

Toshima (1/1), Prince Kayf (6/4), The Darley Lama (11/2), Scottsdale (8/1), Steccando (33/1), Don't Do It (33/1), Parisian Charmer (100/1)

Verdict

Not too many to concentrate on here. The Darley Lama didn't really go forward in bumpers but an extra half mile and a few obstacles in the way could easily improve him, and he looks the main danger to TOSHIMA, who on form looks the one to beat and in this small field, it's unlikely his stamina will be tested too severely. Prince Kayf should make a hurdler on breeding but given we've not seen him for some time, might be one to watch today. Scottsdale only won a moderate event last time and needs plenty more.
