Useful over fences when trained in France his form in the same sphere in this country has proved disappointing. Well supported last time he did at least manage to stop the regression; potentially well handicapped now, risks still attached.
French form only modest and hasn't fared any better since moving to this GB yard over hurdles and fences. Had four runs (separated by a wind op) but failed to impress over fences last twice despite being prominent in the market; remains an enigma.
On a long losing sequence (last win came on the AW, June 2016); appears to cope with fences (0-4) with necessarily looking a winner waiting to happen in this sphere. Well held over hurdles last time, he returns to fences; fails to inspire.
With letters outweighing numbers in his form figures since joining this yard he's hardly one to be supporting here. Pulled up on his chase debut last time he's best watched despite having plummeted in the weights.
A first-time visor used after a 10-month break appeared to help her open her chasing account under Rules (jumped soundly). Went backwards next time (race may have come too soon); worth another chance in first-time blinkers off a longer break.
Three-time point-to-point winner (3-35) who failed to make an impression on his first start for this yard over hurdles (well supported; first-time tongue-tie). Pulled up last three starts over fences under Rules, cheekpieces on first-time; unsafe.
Form under Rules contains plenty of incompletions including when running too freely last time at Southwell. Has won a point-to-point (1-10 in that discipline) by 54L making all but it looked a weak heat; more required to get involved.
Minor triumph last time when he managed to complete having failed to do so in nine successive races under Rules and in point-to-points. Retains very little ability and even at this level isn't one to be supporting.
Winning point-to-pointer (1-12) but his Rules form is very poor. Pulled up when last seen under Rules at Worcester recently, offered little from 10lb out of the handicap. Cheekpieces now on first-time, they need to produce a big improvement.
Forecasts
Diligent (2/1), Primogeniture (11/4), Ballina Lady (11/2), Mountain Of Angels (7/1), Lord De La Mine (7/1), Mr Sawyer (10/1), American Craftsman (33/1), Eddies Pearl (33/1), Killabraher Cross (50/1)
Finding a solid citizen in this handicap chase is hard work and the race lacks depth with most of these looking to have plenty to find. Diligent was sent off as the market leader here last time and once again failed to get the job done but that form is better than most have shown and he won’t get many easier chances to open his GB account. MOUNTAIN OF ANGELS is preferred though given longer to recover from her last outing having shown winning form at Southwell where she jumped well, the blinkers (first-time) may provide that extra spark. Primogeniture is far from a frequent winner but may well take advantage of his slide down the weights soon.
- Mountain Of Angels
- Diligent
