Winner over 2m5½f at Ballinrobe earlier this month and third back there on Tuesday over shorter trip. Claims here up in distance if this doesn't come too quickly.

Twice a winner on the Flat, he's 0-6 over timber but finished respectable sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (2m, good, 9-2) last time. Cheekpieces added now and not ruled out.

Scored at Wexford in April over 2m, hasn't really mustered a threat in three runs over timber since however and remains clear of that winning mark.

Sole win in 21 starts over hurdles came all the way back in 2015, has threatened on occasion for current trainer, though cannot exactly be labelled consistent. Chance on going day.

Form in seven runs over timber wouldn't be overly encouraging, but did shape well for a long way over similar trip at Wexford last month before ultimately fading to sixth of seven.

Lightly-raced over hurdles, but not progressing last year. Watching brief returning from 288-day absence with new tongue-tie added.

Lightly-raced sort over timber, shaped marginally better on handicap bow at Listowel (2m4f) in June but that still leaves a healthy chunk to work on.

Filly has taken a couple of forwards step in novice/maiden company at Limerick and Tramore of late over this sort of trip. Needs a very close look now setting sights on a handicap with that in mind.

Victorious in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m1f at Ballinrobe (good) in April. Mostly toiling in four runs since, though now back within 1lb of winning mark and useful claimer booked.

17-race maiden, yet to make the frame in 14 runs over timber and nothing in recent efforts to suggest that is about to be altered.

Verdict

Sizing Malbay is clearly in good heart and should find this longer trip in his favour, though the run does comes just two days after a battling effort at Ballinrobe. The likes of Galuppi and Dorus Day would hold some sort of chance on their best efforts but handicap debutantes Lets Go Again and FAKE MEDIA make plenty appeal. The former has shaped as though this longer trip will be a plus and is respected but the selections has already shown in runs at Limerick and Tramore that the trip suits and should be a challenger from an opening mark of 90.
