Ex-pointer who wore a hood when winning 2m3f maiden at Downpatrick on hurdling debut in March. Well held next time at Punchestown but could have something to offer on handicap debut after a break.
By New Approach, gained second hurdles success over extended-2m here last month, has yet to really convince with stamina at this trip however.
5-45 over timber, winning very easily at Killarney (2m4f, good) last month and going up 9lb in the ratings as a result. Duly held since at Sligo.
Unfancied in betting on recent comeback at Downpatrick (2m2½f, good) and duly finished last; would only be of interest in first-time blinkers should market speak in favour.
Took a maiden hurdle here in July over 2m½f, fair form since though ran poorly last time at Cork and does have to prove he wants this stamina-test.
Versatile sort, won over fences at Wexford in June and comes here having run well on the Flat at the Curragh. On a fair mark and rider takes off useful 5lb.
Eight-race race maiden over timber, has come close in novice/handicap company though likely has to raise game back in a handicap from this mark to get on the board.
Confirmed hurdling debut promise when winning 15-runner novice at Killarney (2m4f, good) recently and not a major surprise should this handicap debutant have something to say now.
0-9 over hurdles and possibly high enough in ratings starting out for new trainer after fair run in a claimer on the Flat at Sligo, betting should reveal more.
Winner of 2m handicap chase at Perth last month, hasn't been able to take advantage of significantly lower rating over timber in two starts since however and must do more.
Knocking on the door in this sphere at Killarney and Cork of late, comes here off a fair run on the Flat at Tramore and certainly not without a chance back over flights.
Forecasts
Bay Hill (9/4), Callthebarman (5/1), Quantatmental (7/1), Whenurgoodurgood (8/1), Jon Ess (8/1), Mister Eddman (8/1), Elusive Don (14/1), Room To Roam (14/1), Cash In Mind (14/1), You Can't Catch Me (16/1), Kuraka (25/1)
The versatile and consistent Bay Hill is very much capable of challenging back over timber, with his rider's claim helping the case, while Elusive Don has twice knocked on the door in this code of late and should register a win before long. Mister Eddman is noted back from a break and may show improved form but another handicap debutant, WHENURGOODURGOOD, won a Killarney maiden last time and should have a big say in this under Conor Orr with the form of that success having been boosted a few times.
- Whenurgoodurgood
- Mister Eddman
- Bay Hill
