Completed a double when winning a 3m2f handicap chase at Fontwell (soft) last December. Well beaten on last months seasonal debut at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good-to-firm) however and interesting to see how he fares.
Out of form since finishing a head second to Scoop The Pot at Exeter (3m, good) last November. Has to put a fall at Bangor last time out behind him if he's to take this event.
Victorious in a 3m handicap chase at Fakenham (good-to-firm) in early June. Finished a good third over hurdles since and is a leading contender off a mark 5lb higher than for that Fakenham triumph.
Successful twice in May most recently over an extended 3m1f at Ffos Las (good). Pulled up at Southwell (good-to-soft) over an extended 2m4f on only subsequent start however. Making his return from a break.
Placed on all three starts since returning from a break most recently when 6½L third in a six runner handicap chase over an extended 2m5f at Market Rasen (good) last month. Interesting upped in distance.
Beaten 11½L when third of four over 3m2f at Newton Abbot (good) in May. Pulled up in Listed company at Uttoxeter (3m2f, good) the following month and this looks a more suitable target following a short break.
Forecasts
Wolfcatcher (11/4), Fortunes Hiding (3/1), Hepijeu (7/2), Scoop The Pot (9/2), Belmount (9/1), Gentleman Jon (12/1)
HEPIJEU was the winner of his most recent chase start and following a solid effort over the smaller obstacles last time out he can register a victory in this competitive handicap chase. The selection can get the better of Fortunes Hiding who remains open to improvement while third place can go to top weight Scoop The Pot who is likely to have improved for his seasonal debut.
