Pair of novice wins last season, best of this year's turf runs when second at Epsom (1m2f, good; 7-2f) in June but since very disappointing in valuable handicaps at Newmarket and Goodwood. Eased in ratings/class now, needs to bounce back.

Progressive since joining this yard with three wins in five starts, including last-time-out over C&D (good to soft). Up another 4lb but entitled to hold strong claims again.

C&D winner on soft going in June, just 2lb higher in ratings now and should find this less challenging than recent runs at York and Ascot. In the mix.

Narrow winner of a handicap at Bellewstown (1m, good) last month before leaving Joseph O'Brien. Hasn't beaten anything home in two starts for new trainer, caution advised for now.

Oasis Dream colt showed promise in all three novice/maiden starts having raced prominently. Never able to get into things at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm) last month on handicap bow. Left Sir Michael Stoute since and may do much better under positive

Forecasts

Southern Rock (5/6), The Trader (2/1), Amber Spark (7/1), Jupiter Road (16/1), Madeeh (20/1)

Verdict

SOUTHERN ROCK is doing very well since joining David O'Meara and the handler looks to have found a very winnable follow-up opportunity for his recent C&D win. A 4lb rise is fair and a fourth win in six beckons. Madeeh has shown promise and probably can offer more in a handicap if ridden forward while The Trader isn't one to dismiss lightly as he drops in class for this.
  1. Southern Rock
  2. Madeeh
  3. The Trader
