Badly out of form this spring when lost his way but signs of a return off much lower mark when fifth at Tramore last time. More needed, but is no forlorn hope eased a further 2lb.

Won Cork 2m5f beginners chase last November but hasn't built nb that in handicaps and has seen his mark slide by 8lb. Badly out of form last two starts, latest over hurdles. Cheekpieces now added.

First win since December 2016 whan landing handicap hurdle here a couple of weeks ago. In fair placed form over fences this spring and has decent chance if able to transfer his latest success over timber back to these larger obstacles.

In the veteran stage now but was good second at Wexford in June prior to slightly disappointing fifth last time at Kilbeggan. Eased 1lb but on balance may find a few too good for him once again.

In touch when brought down 2 out in handicap haurdle at Galway earlier in the month having finished a good fifth there a few days earlier. Won h'cap chase at Thurles in November off 10lb lower mark so has no easy task at the weights.

Ideally served by some give underfoot and won Kilbeggan soft ground handicap chase last time in brave fashion off 4lb lower mark. Clearly in good heart and any rain would be a big bonus.

Landed handicap chase hat-trick last summer but has looked a shadow of himself in two starts of late since returning from a more than nine-month break. Hard to enthuse over on current evidence.

C&D winner in June off 7lb lower mark. Ran well enough when third at Hexham following week but pulled up when struggling at Perth in July and not seen since. May return refreshed from his break but looks to have a tough task on his hands.

Didn't appear to benefit from first-time blinkers at Killarney a few days ago and surprise to see him declared again in this headgear. Previously ran well when second at Tramore in August and a return to that level would give him every chance here.

Won here over nearly 3m in May and followed up in h'cap chase at Tramore week after. Landed two handicap hurdles here prior to latest close second at Tramore and switched back to fences now. Yard in fine form and is a player.

2-22 over hurdles but is unexposed over fences and kept on when fifth over C&D in May on latest chase start. Two quiet runs over timber since but is worth a glance on handicap chase bow and any market interest could prove significant.

Rudy Catrail10
Age: 8|  Weight: 9-10| J: C D Maxwell| T: E Sheehy| OR:  84

16-race maiden but ran respectably latest when third on soft ground at Tramore. Professional jockey takes over from amateur but has a bit to prove from 4lb out of the handicap.

Nevada Rose31
Age: 12|  Weight: 9-10| J: Miss A O'Sullivan(7)| T: S Millar| OR:  68

32-race maiden veteran mare who has been well beaten last three starts. Makes very little appeal in current form racing from 20lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Canadian Steel (11/4), Muroor (5/1), Whatsinthecorner (7/1), Father Jed (8/1), Effernock Lad (8/1), I'm An Izz Wizz (12/1), Just A Normal Day (14/1), Allardyce (16/1), Sizing Solution (16/1), Wishmoor (16/1), Da Baba Elephant (16/1), Rudy Catrail (20/1), Fenlon's Hill (20/1), Nevada Rose (40/1)

Verdict

Most of these have their quirks and have something to ppove so a chance is taken on handicap debutant MUROOR building on the promise he hinted at on his last run over fences. Canadian Steel loves it here and is a very big threat. He should be right in the thick of the action once again, while recent hurdles winner Efferknock Lad is another who seems to go well here. Top weight Fenlon's Hill has a chance if on song, and Wishmoor hinted last time he may be running back into form.
