A C&D winner here last year in a Listed race. Has failed to score in seven starts so far this season. She was sixth of nine on her latest attempt in the Group One Nassau Stakes here (1m2f). Down in trip. Others are preferred.
Was a C&D here last time in a 20 runner handicap field, scoring by 1L in what was his third straight success. Is stepping up in level but his performances recently suggest he deserves to be here. Worth consideration.
Comes into this race on a hat-trick bid following wins over 1m at Newmarket and this course respectively. His latest success came in a Group 3 contest where he overcame problems in running. Leading player to follow up again.
Opened up his campaign with victory at Newbury (7f) in a 14 runner handicap contest but has failed to follow it up since. Was fourth of eight last time in the Group One Sussex Stakes here (1m) in what was a career best. One to consider.
Started his career with wins in his opening two starts, including in a Group 3 race at Newmarket (1m). Was fourth of 11 last time in the Group One St James's Palace Stakes (1m) at Ascot. This assignment will be easier. Good chance.
Scored twice last season at this distance. His form has been mixed this year. He was fourth of six last time in a Listed race at Newmarket (1m) when going off as the 11/8 favourite. Cheekpieces on for first time here. Needs to improve at this level.
Forecasts
Skardu (2/1), Duke Of Hazzard (3/1), Happy Power (4/1), Beat Le Bon (4/1), Turgenev (10/1), Nyaleti (20/1)
Recent Group 3 winner DUKE OF HAZZARD is running really well at this distance at the moment and although he has yet to score at this level, he should be taken to complete his hat-trick of successes. Although he is a very experienced operator, his best performances may yet still be to come. Skardu was not too far behind in the St James's Palace Stakes at Ascot and on the basis of that run alone, he has to be expected to be right in contention at the finish here, while Happy Power has to be respected following his fourth place finish in the Sussex Stakes as he drops down a level.
- Duke Of Hazzard
- Skardu
- Happy Power
