Easy Worcester winner despite showing signs of greenness. The runner-up finished last next time and he looks vulnerable under his penalty.

Well-beaten at long odds on in two runs 20 months apart. This is likely to be his first race when fully fit, but others make greater appeal.

Arakan gelding out of an unraced half-sister to multiple winners Thistlecraft and Hilltopper. Supported on Ayr debut when only fourth of six but was then sold for £37,000. New yard in tremendous form and one for the shortlist.

Schiaparelli gelding out of a Polish Flat winner who has produced one winner from eight foals. Stable 3-4 here in bumpers so definitely one of the more interesting newcomers.
Black Sam Bellamy gelding out of a mare who won a bumper. Not highly tried on debut and the market may reveal more.

His Market Rasen effort earlier in the month was a step in the right direction, but it would take a lot more to win an average bumper.

Bred to have some stamina about her, so it was perhaps a little disappointing she couldn't do a bit better when made favourite at Uttoxeter on her debut. However, this test may be more suitable and no surprise if she gave her yard a change of luck.

Filly by Dr Massini out of a dam who won eight point-to-points. Rare bumper runner for the yard and others may be more forward.

Forecasts

Gennady (2/1), Socks (5/2), Arctic Valley (3/1), Took The Lot (15/2), Chestnut Pete (12/1), Flos (16/1), Myspacenotyours (20/1), Croftys Josh (40/1), Act Accordingly (66/1)

Verdict

Tom George's record here in bumpers augurs well for his newcomer Socks. He knows the family well but so far the dam has only had one moderate winner. GENNADY was picked up by connections for £37,000 having only beat two home on his debut, but the stable are enjoying a good spell and an in-form Brian Hughes is on board. In contrast Olly Murphy will be wondering when his luck will change having seen some of his fancied runners miss out. His runner here, Flos, ran below expectations on debut but can only improve for he experience. Arctic Valley scored at Worcester but the form has been let down since and he looks opposable under a penalty.
