Won on her racecourse bow (7f, Polytrack) at Lingfield last December and also went close on her seasonal return at Wolverhampton in June. Not gone on from there and held in two handicaps last month. Hood dispensed with and a bit to prove.
Consistent in her juvenile season; won a maiden auction last August and went on to round off the campaign with a solid run when sixth in the Two-Year-old Trophy at Redcar. Last two starts her best of this campaign so far; chance if taking to the AW.
Underwent wind surgery after landing a decent looking novice stakes at Newbury last July; ran well when second at Salisbury shortly after but not seen out since. Handicap mark looks fair judged on juvenile form but fitness to prove on AW debut.
Won twice over 6f so far but well held in both previous attempts over this trip; finished behind Strict Tempo at Newbury earlier this month but now 4lb better off with that rival. Still has a bit to find but a bonus that she has course experience.
Won a 6f novice stakes at Lingfield in June and went in again on handicap debut (also 6f) here at the start of the month. The form is modest but she has a good attitude and the extra furlong suits on pedigree. Good chance despite a 3lb higher mark.
Given plenty of time after making a satisfactory debut at Newbury last July; held in both starts this term but has lots of scope now handicapping. Form of her latest start isn't working out, though, which tempers the confidence. Betting can guide.
Forecasts
Strict Tempo (7/4), To The Moon (11/4), Turn 'n Twirl (5/1), Lapidary (5/1), Shorter Skirt (10/1), Angel Mead (16/1)
LAPIDARY is bred to be effective over this trip and, having won her last two starts in a determined manner, she is open to further progress in handicaps and gets the nod. Strict Tempo is consistent and more proven over this trip than her old rival Shorter Skirt, so also merits consideration. As does To The Moon who is unexposed and starts her handicap career at winnable level. By contrast, Turn 'n Twirl (top weight) and Angel Mead (race fitness and AW debut) have questions to answer for one reason or another and are hard to asses on the bare form. The betting can guide where they are concerned.
- Lapidary
- Strict Tempo
- To The Moon
