Last hurdles win came five years ago but has been lightly raced over the smaller obstacles in that time. Has some fair recent chase form but overall ability over hurdles these days is limited.
Had been performing well at the turn of the year over a variety of trips but lost his way from March onwards. Given a decent break, he may just needs this but has run well at this track before and not easily discounted.
Slowly dropping down the handicap and just 2lb higher than when winning at Downpatrick in October 2018. Has been chasing to little effect and latest hurdle outing did not suggest he would be winning again soon.
Three-time hurdles winner with a few more placed efforts in 18 starts over these obstacles. Ran poor race at this track and subsequently at Kilbeggan but suited by this trip and track; one to consider.
Poor winning return of one from 19 over hurdles with sole success coming in a Punchestown maiden in December 2015. Took 2nd place over this course and distance last time out. More needed and may have to settle for minor honours.
Won at Perth in April and has generally been running well in defeat. That win, however, remains his only win in 42 starts which tells its own story. Not without a chance on best of known form but others preferred.
Just one win from 13 starts over hurdles and that came three years ago. Latest effort at Ballinrobe in July did not suggest he was ready to win again soon and easily passed over.
Much better effort last time out when finishing third over course and distance earlier this month; long time since last win and has gone up another 1lb for that effort; not totally out of it and should run his race.
Stepped up on previous efforts over hurdles when finishing 2nd in a handicap at Tramore over two miles. She was staying on well in the closing stages and this slight step up in trip will help. One for the shortlist.
Has missed a lot of racing since winning at the 2018 Galway Festival nearly 12 months ago. Can't be ruled out looking at the full card and requires plenty of respect on return to action.
Struggling to complete over hurdles at the end of last summer, the gelding has shown hints of improvement since the fitting of blinkers in a number of starts since last month including last time out at Tramore. Place claims.
Victorious in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m1f at Ballinrobe (good) in April. Well held in three subsequent starts however and probably best watched at present.
Forecasts
Imperial Choice (11/8), Mr Moondance (15/2), Love The Well (8/1), Cappuccino Man (9/1), Jazz Ranger (10/1), Draycott Place (10/1), Kansas Kid (12/1), Oromo (12/1), Fly De Megaudais (16/1), Baby Bellini (16/1), Ciankyle (20/1), Muroor (20/1)
A tricky race and a chance is taken with IMPERIAL CHOICE who put in a career best performance last time out at Tramore when she was finishing strongly in the closing stages with this step up in trip expected to suit. Love The Well has been showing improved and more consistent form since the fitting of blinkers and he is expected to run another solid race. Mr Moondance is another whose current form warrants closer inspection with the gelding putting up a useful performance over course and distance last time out.
- Imperial Choice
- Mr Moondance
- Love The Well
