Improved since being upped to this trip and tried in handicaps. Not beaten far in her last two starts and certainly going the right way. Handy she's also got C&D experience. Shortlisted.
Been consistent this summer even though he was an expensive favourite to follow the last twice; but the apprentice rider back in the plate helps at the weights and can assist with a more resolute display in this slightly weaker company.
Form has been on the slide this season; culminating with a poor effort when finishing last in a seller at Leicester in late July. Plenty to prove and others look more reliable at present.
Two improved efforts since switching yards last month and might find more now he's tried in a visor for the first time. Needs to up his game and consistency not a strong point though.
Well beaten in all four previous starts - including on handicap debut last time out - and a big step forward is required. The drop in trip might help but still too much guesswork involved at this stage.
Won at Windsor over this trip - when wearing blinkers for the first time - last month and been kept busy with three runs since. Can make the running or at least help ensure there is a good pace; still 4lb above his winning mark though.
Improved effort in a visor last time out bodes well if the headgear has the same effect; but has form to reverse with Bader and has something to find when all things are considered. 0-9 and form with cut in the ground is inconclusive.
Well behind Goodwood Sonnet on debut for her current yard last time out and needs a lot to go her way if she's going to reverse the form; also her first try on the predicted ground so sufficient cause to look elsewhere.
Poor form in three starts so far and makes limited appeal on handicap debut. The fitting of a visor needs to prompt a near transformation.
Forecasts
Queen's Soldier (5/2), Uncertain Smile (7/2), Goodwood Sonnet (4/1), Ragstone Cowboy (9/2), Bader (10/1), Tamok (11/1), Mr Nice Guy (20/1), Max Guevara (20/1), Another Approach (20/1)
William Carver got on well with QUEEN'S SOLDIER the last time they teamed up and his 5lb claim can be a useful tool if this develops into a scrap for the line. Uncertain Smile has flourished since being tried over this trip and can make this a good test, as can Bader although his current mark does temper the confidence for a win only play. Goodwood Sonnet has form to reverse with the last named, so it might also pay to check if there is any each-way value in giving Ragstone Cowboy the benefit of the doubt now he wears a visor for the first time.
- Queen's Soldier
- Uncertain Smile
- Ragstone Cowboy
