Twice pulled up early on in novice events at Yarmouth and Epsom either side of tailed off effort at Leicester. Makes handicap debut with a lot to prove going up in trip.
20,000 gns yearling, Nathaniel colt. Brother to 1m3½f winner Natty Night and closely related to useful winner up to 7f Sulaalaat. Smartly-bred and respected debutant for top yard.
Dubawi colt has twice shaped well over 7f on the turf so far. Up in trip for this AW bow and should benefit from Cieren Fallon's claim. Shortlisted.
Exceed And Excel colt, shown promise in four starts on turf, all over 7f. Faded late at Epsom last time in cheekpieces, now replaced by blinkers for this AW bow. More to give in all probability.
Zoffany colt, beat little home on debut at Newbury (7f, good to soft) four weeks ago, has plenty time to improve and may do so, but best watched for now.
Son of Sea The Stars was sent off favourite on debut at Sandown (7f, good to firm) on debut 22 days ago and perhaps didn't get run of the race. Should leave that behind and much-respected still.
Invincible Spirit filly, posted an improved effort on second start at Kempton over a mile on the AW to take fourth spot. Represents a stable in form and can go well again upped further in trip.
Fountain of Youth filly, unfancied in betting and finished last of eight in Ffos Las novice on debut over 7½f (good to firm) last month. Facing a stiff task here it seems.
Forecasts
Star Of Wells (6/4), Dubai Souq (15/8), Mass Media (7/2), Sky Flyer (10/1), Dark Heart (12/1), Gloryana (16/1), Puzzlebook (66/1), Austin Taetious (100/1)
A race won by Royal Ascot scorer Dashing Willoughby 12 months ago and some useful-looking prospects on show again. Star Of Wells was strongly fancied on debut at Sandown and should have learned plenty in defeat. He's respected while Gloryana is a possible improver and the Mark Johnston-trained newcomer Dark Heart merits close inspection. Preference though is for DUBAI SOUQ who goes up in trip after two pleasing turf efforts over 7f. He's a likely improver and will be aided by having his talented young rider take 5lb off.
- Dubai Souq
- Star Of Wells
- Dark Heart
