Back up in the weights after narrowly losing out at York (1m2f; soft) recently. Jockey booking is a big plus, and she proved then she can handle ground with give underfoot.

Incredibly well-bred, and makes handicap debut off a fair mark after winning on final maiden start over C&D last time. Must prove she handles softer ground, but could take some stopping if able to do so.

Proved she can cope with any ground when successful at Windsor (1m2f; good to firm) on faster ground. Looked to have more up her sleeve then, and had won on heavy over C&D prior to that so boasts impressive claims.

Much more like it when runner-up at Ripon (1m2f; good to soft) when dropped into a Class 4. Back up in grade now and vulnerable to improvers. Has won over C&D in the past.

Was obliged to win at Leicester (1m2f; heavy) when sent off 4-9f, but there was never a moments worry then. Should cope with the 6lb rise, and is a major player in similar conditions.

Verdict

A extremely good-quality middle-distance fillies handicap with plenty of these still possessing bundles of untapped potential. This is a stiffer task than last time, but Teodora De Vega has proved that 1m2f on ground with give underfoot are her optimum conditions and she should go close for Ralph Beckett. As should Birdcage Walk who only did enough when successful at Windsor recently. A subsequent 5lb rise is unlikely to halt her progress, but OJOOBA has outstanding claims. She showed good staying qualities to break her maiden duck from the front over this C&D last time, & it wouldn't be a surprise to see her line up in pattern company before the end of the season.
  1. Ojooba
  2. Birdcage Walk
  3. Teodora De Vega
