Lawman colt. Only newcomer in the field. Half-brother to middle-distance winners Ply and Polish. Not a daunting race to start career off in, but he will need to be streetwise if wanting to take this on debut.

Showed only minor ability in two starts last season, both of which came at Windsor (6f; good to firm). Now steps up in trip on seasonal reappearance, but others make more appeal, as will he when moving into handicaps.

Returns to turf after being beaten a nose in a photo-finish at Chelmsford (1m; standard). Form of that contest has since been franked by the winner, and he has huge claims if replicating that level of form.
Showed obvious signs of improvement from first to second run when just failing to make the frame at Pontefract (1m; good) last month. Another chunk of progression required, but does have decent enough place claims.

Looked inexperienced on debut at Kempton (1m; standard to slow) last week when 12th of 13. Makes turf debut and better is expected, but unlikely to trouble the leading contenders too much.
Shown very little in two starts so far this year with a pair of quite efforts both at Kempton (7f; standard to slow) and Newmarket (1m; good to firm). Does seem to look more of a handicap project.

Hard to knock her debut effort when fourth over C&D behind the highly-talented Miss O Connor at the start of the month. Should be thereabouts, but must prove that debut run was no fluke.

Forecasts

Ghaly (4/6), Casanova (5/4), Court Order (9/4), Olympic Conqueror (11/1), Normal Norman (12/1), Elena Osorio (18/1), Dark Mystique (20/1), Sally Hope (25/1), Urban Scene (66/1), Aspiring Diva (80/1)

Verdict

A few of these have questions to answer, none more so than Casanova who ran massively below the level of form he showed upon seasonal return when second to the smart Le Don De Vie at Epsom when he was turned over at odds-on at Beverley last time. He remains of interest if the subsequent gelding operation/94-day break has worked. The sole debutante in the field, Court Order, is also worth a mention given that connections know how to ready a newcomer to win first time out, but the selection is GHALY. He must prove he handles turf, but the form of his recent second at Chelmsford is the strongest on offer and a reproduction of that should be enough him to break his duck.
