Turned over at 1-3f when stepped up to this trip at Goodwood (6f; good) shortly after making a highly promising debut in a decent race at Ascot (5f; good to soft). Given an 85-day break since then, and is definitely worth another chance.
Invincible Spirit colt. Dam won a Group 3 over 6f as a two-year-old. Half-brother to a winner over 1m4f. Could have a prominent role to play on debut for powerful connections. Stable have an impressive 32% strike-rate here over the last five years.
Unable to match form of debut second at Wolverhampton (6f; standard) when stepped up to 7f on turf debut at Yarmouth (7f; good to firm) last month. This is a hotter race than the two he has contested in his career so far, and so he has work to do.
Fair to say he improved for the switch to nursery company last time when runner-up at Thirsk (6f; good). Intriguing that connections have chosen to pitch him back into maiden company. On the premises once more.
Cappella Sansevero colt who made £60,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to three winners and trainer/jockey combo are going well at present. Interesting newcomer for top connections. Watch the market for clues.
Virtually impossible to fancy against rivals with vastly superior form. Didn't show any real improvement from debut effort when posting a similarly low-key run at Nottingham (6f; soft) recently. Best watched.
Disappointed at Chester (5f; good) last time when trailing in fifth of seven. Held good form prior to that effort, and entitled to be a player in this contest if latest run was just an off day.
Forecasts
Clan Royale (11/8), Danyah (11/4), No Mercy (11/4), Upstate New York (12/1), Panic Room (20/1), Lilkian (33/1), Pull Harder Con (100/1)
An interesting maiden to begin proceedings. No Mercy should remain competitive on his return to maiden company after showing improved form when pitched into a nursery recently. Out of the newcomers, Panic Room and Danyah are likely to have bright futures, but the latter is narrowly fancied over the former given that he is out of a two-year-old who won a Group 3 over 6f and represents a yard who possess an eye-catching 32% strike-rate at this track. We'll give another chance to CLAN ROYALE though, who may have not coped with the quick turnaround when beaten as an odds-on favourite last time, and should have major claims if back to the form of his debut third.
