Twice a winner over hurdles in the past, didn't take to chasing earlier this summer (twice pulled up) but better over hurdles when last spotted and potentially on a workable mark.
Improved form when landing a mares' maiden hurdle at this venue late last month. She has the scope for better still now going into handicap for the first time. Player.
Hurdles/chase winner who has been below her best both starts in recent months. Mark declining but she needs the new headgear to have a positive effect now seemingly.
Has been struggling for a while now, though she was a winner from an 8lb higher mark at Newton Abbot last summer, so cannot be crossed off the list and any market support would be noted.
Soft-ground Catterick success 14 months ago her only win in 10 over timber and recent efforts in this sphere/on Flat aren't inspiring.
Solid effort last month when taking second spot over 3m at Southwell. A replication of that form might well prove good enough now. Should be in the mix.
Both career successes over timber have come around Taunton over 3m, when making taking advantage of lower marks than this. Could have place claims if returning cheekpieces help.
15-race maiden over timber (has won a point-to-point) was sent off a short-price favourite in debut for Dan Skelton at Stratford (2m2½f, good) last month and never looked a likely winner. Longer trip should be a plus, better is expected.
0-14 over timber, showed some promise when previously with this trainer but was disappointing for James Moffatt since. Champion jockey on board back with Philip Hobbs. Watch betting.

Forecasts
Lapalala (5/2), Chequered View (5/1), Lamh Ar Lamh (11/2), Hot Ryan (7/1), Superefficient (7/1), Cardy (8/1), Prophets Prayer (10/1), Shine Baby Shine (14/1), Goodnitesweetheart (16/1), Western Sunrise (22/1)
CARDY gave an improved performance here last time to win a mares' maiden and goes handicapping with still the potential to improve a bit more. She gets the vote ahead of Superefficient, who was well supported on debut for Dan Skelton last time and should be seen to better effect over this longer trip. Any money coming for Lapalala would be noted while Goodnitesweetheart and Lamh Ar Lamh can be given place claims.
- Cardy
- Superefficient
