Fortuitous chase winner at Fakenham in December, unable to repeat that in three runs since, including whne pulled up last month at Stratford. Bit to prove back hurdling.

Benefitted from front-running ride when making all to win at Ffos Las in June (2m) and ran another credible race there since upped to 2m4f, taking second. Should be competitive down in distance again.

Carolines Charmt28
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-11| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  97

Possibly unfortunate not to land a point-to-point win last year, has shown few positives since joining this yard and was pulled up in last month's handicap bow at Uttoxeter.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: R Patrick(3)| T: A Wintle| OR:  96
18/1
Multiple-Flat winner in younger days and finally off the mark over timber at Newton Abbot 11 months ago. Poor on the Flat after but worth a betting check returned from an absence now.

Modest third in a seller at Southwell last time was an improvement on recent efforts, though not really enough to merit strong support here.

Baron Von Chill19
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Benjamin Poste| T: A Wintle| OR:  94

Yet to sparkle for new trainer and remains high enough in the ratings. Should be sharper having been beaten a wide margin in last month's comeback at Uttoxeter.

Unplaced and yet to threaten in five starts over timber, has plenty to prove at this point in time. Had shown some ability in bumpers previously.

Filly doesn't have many miles on the clock and could be given a chance on her Huntingdon third in March. Backwards steps in two runs since (including a fall) and something to prove at this point.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Max Kendrick(5)| T: S Flook| OR:  91| D

First start since wind surgery when pulling up over 2m4f on good ground here at the start of last month. Probably best watched off a mark 4lb higher than when winning at Hereford (2m, good to soft) in November.

Just Marvin19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: Harry Bannister| T: A M Hales| OR:  89

No improvement shown in recent handicap debut at Uttoxeter and therefore form over timber doesn't warrant support in this field.
11
Horse silk
Ormskirkb63
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: David Noonan| T: J Farrelly| OR:  89
8/1
Has improved form in last three starts, including going close (third) over 2m2½f at Newton Abbot in May and runner-up since at Fontwell (2m5½f). Drops in trip and well capable of having a say.
12
Horse silk
Midnight Jitterbug114
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: M R Bosley| OR:  89| BFWS
15/2
Maiden of 10 starts over timber in an interrupted career. Twice made the frame at Taunton and Plumpton in the spring, has undergone a wind operation since and could be capable of having a say.
13
Horse silk
Salazar36
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-1| J: Charlie Hammond(3)| T: S-J Davies| OR:  88
80/1
Fair form at best on the Flat (only win came on debut) when with Kevin Ryan; has shown precious little over hurdles since moving to this yard. Was pulled up on handicap debut last month at Uttoxeter.

Horse silk
May Mist252
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: Adam Wedge| T: T Wall| OR:  81
66/1
Succession of wide-margin defeats over hurdles last year in novice/claiming company. Returns from an absence and hard to make any sort of case for.

Horse silk
Bumble Bayp,t19
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-6| J: Mr C Dowson(7)| T: R Stephens| OR:  78| D
16/1
1-19 over timber, pulled up at Uttoxeter last month on return from a break and well held since in one Flat run. Others with more going for them.

Horse silk
Infinitib1,t36
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-4| J: S Bowen| T: B Leavy| OR:  76
5/1
Twice runnner-up at Uttoxeter (2m) in last three runs, also making the frame there over a longer trip in between. Fair benchmark on form and should give another solid account.
17
Horse silk
Oenophileb171
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-2| J: P J Brennan| T: T R Gretton| OR:  75
40/1
0-6 over hurdles and yet to get competitive, pulled up in June at Bangor and will have to raise game dramatically in order to play a significant role.

Horse silk
Show Of Forcet24
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-1| J: H Cobden| T: Kieran Burke| OR:  74
9/1
Dual Flat winner whose form looks fair but hasn't shown anything like that level over hurdles including in handicaps. Well held again in novice company at Newton Abbot 24 days ago, plenty more needed.

Forecasts

Infiniti (5/1), Midnight Jitterbug (15/2), Patsio (8/1), Ormskirk (8/1), Show Of Force (9/1), Baby Ted (10/1), Dariya (12/1), Just Marvin (12/1), Why Lie (16/1), Bumble Bay (16/1), Carolines Charm (16/1), Rocket Ronnie (18/1), By Rail (25/1), Centreofexcellence (25/1), Baron Von Chill (28/1), Oenophile (40/1), May Mist (66/1), Salazar (80/1)

Verdict

PATSIO benefitted from a front-running ride to score over this trip at Ffos Las two starts back and certainly wasn't disgraced since (second) upped in trip. A return to 2m can see him go very well once more. The consistent Infiniti is also expected to be bang there when it matters while Ormskirk and Midnight Jitterbug have place claims.
  1. Patsio
  2. Infiniti
  3. Ormskirk
