Fair on the Flat but well beaten on his latest start (ran no sort of race) at Newmarket over 1m5f. Won on the Flat and on hurdles debut prior to that at Hexham (beat three subsequent winners); ought to progress further over hurdles.
Fairly useful on Flat (with Iain Jardine) he won on his hurdles debut at Aintree (looked a useful recruit). Not seen to best effect when trying to follow up over C&D (took strong hold); sort to bounce back quickly.
Lightly-raced but fair maiden on the Flat for Mick Channon and his current stable; ran poorly at Epsom last time (finished last of seven). Looks to be up against things even if taking well to hurdles.
Fair maiden when trained in Ireland by Jim Bolger he offered something to work on from his hurdles debut over C&D when fourth. Ground to make up on Must See The Doc but has some fair jumping relations; progress expected.
Jumping newcomer; half-sister to 4 winners, including bumper/hurdle winner in France Ahkel Vie, dam chase winner up to 2¾m. Second contender from a yard that have won this before but does look to be the lesser contender.
Maiden on the Flat who was capable of some reasonable form at up to 1m4f; now makes her hurdling bow. Lacks experience and wouldn't have been as good as some of these on the level, best watched on first try in this sphere.
Forecasts
Must See The Doc (4/7), Green Etoile (5/2), Repetitio (12/1), Hen (20/1), Guardia Top (40/1), Limelighter (40/1)
This looks a match between the two former winners and penalised runners both of whom have very similar profiles having won on their first starts over timber and then disappointed the next time albeit the defeat of Green Etoile came on the Flat. MUST SEE THE DOC is narrowly taken of the pair to get back to winning ways after his C&D defeat last time; his Aintree win was good form though and he’s better judged on that. Repetito has ground to make up on the selection but can’t be ruled out after showing some promise on his debut over obstacles whilst the market should provide the best guide to the three hurdling newcomers the best of which on paper could be Guardia Top.
- Must See The Doc
- Green Etoile
- Repetitio
