Beaten 3½L when finishing third to Billy Roberts over C&D (good to firm) last month and boasts a respectable overall record (839422963) at this track; last win came in a 1m claimer on the AW at Newcastle.
Veteran; winner of 13 of his 128 career starts; raced sparingly on turf over the past few months and not overly competitive; will be of more interest once returned to Fibresand - winner over 1m at Southwell on New Year's Day.
3lb lower than when finishing second to Shawaaheq over 7½f here (good) in June; disappointing at Musselburgh latest and remains a maiden (0-8); tough task.
Finished strongly to score over C&D (good) in June, swiftly following up over a slightly shorter trip at Carlisle and Hamilton; higher in the weights now and below-par latest, but with C&D form figures of 2,1 rates as dangerous to dismiss.
Runner-up over 1m4f (gd/soft) on her last visit to Beverley and struck on her very next start at Redcar (1m6f, good to firm); tackled competitive races since; a prominent racer who may lack the speed for a battle with Langholm.
Unbeaten in two starts on the Westwood, making all of the running when winning a pair of Class 6 C&D handicaps in June/July; is ground versatile; 6lb above his last winning mark in a stronger race; place claims.
Spotted closing at the finish when fourth to Langholm over C&D (good to firm) in July; was very well supported when making it 3-3 on Tapeta at Newcastle (1m2f) last week (apprentices' handicap); holds an obvious chance off the same mark.

Langholm (9/4), Melgate Majeure (5/2), Go Fox (4/1), Dutch Coed (9/2), Placebo Effect (6/1), Fantastic Ms Fox (7/1), Briardale (8/1), Spirit Of Lund (10/1), Lucy's Law (12/1), Showboating (28/1)
MELGATE MAJEURE was all the rage in the market when making it a perfect 3 from 3 on Tapeta at Newcastle last week and escapes a penalty for that success (apprentices' handicap). He returns to Beverley bidding to follow up after previously catching the eye in defeat (fourth) to the reopposing Langholm. The Declan Carroll-trained three-year-old has cut out all of the hard yards in twice scoring over C&D (unbeaten) in recent months. Of the remainder, Dutch Coed clearly also appreciates the Westwood and merits a degree of respect, while the top-weight Briardale is more than capable of disposing of these opponents when fully on song.
- Melgate Majeure
- Dutch Coed
- Langholm
