At his best when kept busy he won over 6f here last time after running the day before ending a long losing run (asserted late on). Now drops back to 5f under a 4lb penalty with plenty of soft/heavy ground form to his name; bold bid expected.
On a long losing run but would not have been suited by the patient tactics employed at Doncaster last time with an apprentice contest (fully-fledged rider back on board). First time in 0-60 grade, dangerously well handicapped if gaining an easy lead.
Last win came on the AW (Fibresand) on the opening day of 2018; very little sound form to show since then in handicap company, looks out of sorts of late. Well beaten when last seen at Pontefract; never won a handicap; cheekpieces return.
Veteran sprinter who appears to be on the wane now having for the most part run modestly this year with only the odd glimmer of promise. Developing some inconsistency also, often slow away he is a dual C&D winner; 6lb below last winning mark.
The sole 3yo in the field she has to overcome a fair losing run with a doubt about her ability to act on the surface (only win came on good-to-firm). Slipped to a basement mark (win came off 65); proving more miss than hit at the moment.
Forecasts
B Fifty Two (2/1), Normal Equilibrium (9/4), Gift In Time (7/2), Seamster (6/1), North Korea (8/1)
There look to be two main protagonists in this with B Fifty Two bidding to add to his recent 6f course win dropping back in trip which should be no problem as he has a plethora of 5f form to his name going 4-34 at the trip. However, it’s possible that a busy period might just catch up with him and with NORMAL EQUILIBRIUM likely to be able to engage forward gear again from the off with Ben Curtis taking over from an apprentice he’s taken to edge this falling into a 0-60 handicap for the first time. Seamster is taken to complete a 1-2-3 for the veterans given his ability to handle the ground better than North Korea and Gift In Time badly out of form.
- Normal Equilibrium
- B Fifty Two
- Seamster
