Both 7f wins this year have come on better ground than he will face here but failed to fire on soft at York last time (did find some trouble also in-running). Eased slightly in grade the conditions temper enthusiasm for his chance; others preferred.

The ground with more rain forecast may have a part to play here and although he didn’t run too badly last time at York Ramesses did look a better model on sounder surface prior to that outing and he may be vulnerable again here. Howzer Black who was behind him at Ayr makes some appeal but the track may not suit and he faces a similar scenario to that at the Scottish track where he’ll be trying to haul in the front-running C&D winner OLLIVANDER who is chasing his fifth win of the year. I Am A Dreamer is another with potential ground worries while both Fuente and Shining Armor appear to be lacking any sparkle at the moment.
