Off the mark at the sixth time of asking for connections when landing a Wexford handicap hurdle off a 5lb lower mark in June. Beaten, second of 19 at Cork last month but capable of another bold show.

4/1
Six-race maiden hurdler who has been running well in defeat in a number of starts since returning to action in June. Needs to show more and requires first-time blinkers to have a positive effect.

Solid and consistent veteran winner here last month over a similar trip off a 7lb lower mark. Beaten at Sligo a day earlier, a race that has worked out well since. No surprise to see a big run once again.

Nothing of note in four maiden hurdle starts around this trip. Has not shown enough overall to be of interest in this company.

Not much to shout about in a number of hurdle starts to date, including a 53L defeat at Downpatrick in May before a similar heavy defeat at Down Royal when last seen in June. Still looking no nearer to breakthrough success.

Sparing return of just the one win from 20 starts over hurdles. Failed chasing career appears to be temporarily on hold and unlikely to be troubling the judge back over timber.

33/1
Lightly raced maiden who has experienced interrupted preparations in recent seasons. Has failed to complete in a couple of starts in the spring following her return from a 443 day break. Difficult to make a case for.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: H Morgan(7)| T: J P Ryan| OR:  80
12/1
13-race maiden hurdler, out of sorts when pulling up when detached at Bellewstown last month on first run for seven months. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.

Point-to-point winner in May but the gelding has looked bereft of any ability in a number of chase and hurdle starts in the last 12 months. Hard to place any faith in.

Forecasts

Canadian Steel (6/4), My Peggy (11/4), Bythesametoken (4/1), Solar Heat (10/1), Ask Cory (11/1), Emilyogue (12/1), Oscar Light (16/1), Maureen's Star (16/1), Rudy Catrail (20/1), Charlotte Wells (33/1)

Verdict

Contest where the three main protagonists in the market should be fighting out the finish here with the Noel Hynds-trained MY PEGGY getting the upper-hand in the shadows of the post. The seven-year-old can get back to winning ways following a second of 19 at Cork last month. The improving Bythesametoken in first-time blinkers and the Noel Kelly-trained, C&D winner, Canadian Steel can be expected to play a major role.
