Likes top of the ground and wouldn't have been ideally suited by the going when mid-division in the Brittania Handicap at Royal Ascot last time. 6lb higher than previous game neck success at Haydock in May but will not be far away.
2-3 last year and won over 7f at Newcastle on seasonal return. Very good third in hot Goodwood handicap in May before 20th in Britannia Handicap on first try over a mile. First start back since gelding op and cheekpieces now added.
Came good in Kempton AW mile handicap last month and followed up at Sandown two weeks later off 8lb higher mark, bolting in by six lengths. Hefty 15lb rise to defy but is clearly in great shape.
Not seen since unplaced in Meydan Listed event in February. Gelded since. Won 7f Lingfield maiden last term prior to distant 3rd in Newbury 7f Listed race last August. Has stamina to prove but returns fresher than most for yard going great guns.
Back to form with 7f success at Newcastle last time but raised 6lb for his troubles. Wouldn't mind a drop of rain to take the sting out of the ground as handles give underfoot. Needs to imrpove again to score off revised mark.
Won mile novice events at Windsor and Thirsk this spring before outclassed in Britannia Handicap. Probably better than he showed that day and given time to recover so has sound chance getting weight all round.
Forecasts
Motawaj (9/4), Dubai Legacy (4/1), Davydenko (5/1), Barristan The Bold (5/1), Good Fortune (11/2), Beatboxer (6/1)
Four of the six contenders ran in the Brittania Handicap at Royal Ascot in June and all failed to play a major role. Receiving weight from all his rivals, DAVYDENKO may prove best of the group having been given time to get over his exertions. He looked progressive prior to that flop. Top weight Beatboxer is a decent horse and has to go close despite his burden, while there could be more to come from Dubai Legacy. Motawaj is fascinating despite his 15lb hike in the weights following a runaway success last time. He is improving so fast he could again go very well.
- Davydenko
- Motawaj
- Beatboxer
