Stoutly-bred filly from a highly respected yard, mile winner on the AW last year and returned from 351-day absence last week at Bath (1m2f, firm; 5-2) with pleasing third; shaping as though longer trip will suit. Cheekpieces added.

Back-to-back wins over 1m3½f at Windsor and Haydock early in the summer, then didn't get much racing room at former venue in June. On a fair mark now tackling longer trip after short absence.

Filly remains a maiden after 16 attempts. Has gone very close on more than one occasion, including when second to thriving rival at Galway (1m4f, good) this month (though not as good there over 1m6f three days later). Chance on best form.

Lightly-raced colt, scored a pair of wins at Brighton in June over 1m2f/1m4f on quick ground. Has been given a short break since, returns rated 9lb higher in better company but is on the upgrade.

A €95,000 yearling by Mastercraftsman, he's not quite living up to his price tag so far in four runs; including last month's handicap bow at Salisbury (1m4f, firm) and has plenty to work on for now.

Maiden, twice finished second at Nottingham (1m2f, good to firm) and Salisbury (1m4f, good to firm) early on this season but couple of backwards steps since leave questions to be answered.

Verdict

The hat-trick seeking Oliver Hardy isn't overlooked hastily despite a sharp rise in the ratings and a classier race than last time, while Sir Mark Prescott's Albanita shaped nicely on return to action recently and looks sure to relish this longer trip. ARTHUR PENDRAGON was in front a long way out here last time before settling for second in a four-runner race over 1m6f. That was an improved effort and, with a chance to delay his chance in this field, he may be the answer dropping in trip.
  1. Arthur Pendragon
  2. Albanita
  3. Oliver Hardy
