Back to near his best when winning at Redcar in June and held his own in a higher grade since. Handled this track really well on his only previous attempt over C&D and nothing to fear from the ground conditions either. Certainly one to consider.
Not stood much racing in recent times but entitled to respect on this pick of his past exploits. Ran well in the Doncaster Mile in March but below par in two starts since. A bit to prove after those tame efforts despite the appealing jockey booking.
A capable sprinter who finished seventh of 11 in a Listed sprint at Cork in June but not seen since. Never yet won beyond 6f and was well beaten in his last try over this trip. Still, he comes a long way for this and has to merit a betting check.
Won a Class 3 handicap at Mussleburgh in April but has been well held in this grade five times since. Needs to bounce back from a poor effort in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket last month. Yard winning this race in 2015 a redeeming factor though.
The filly's easiest assignment of the seasons so far and this is significant ease in grade. A rare below par run in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot has to be forgiven but it's worth bearing in mind she would be carrying top weight if this were a handicap.
Forecasts
Dan's Dream (5/4), Remarkable (2/1), Raydiance (9/2), Three Saints Bay (9/1), The Broghie Man (14/1)
DAN'S DREAM, whose neck second to the high-class Soffia in a Group 3 at The Curragh in June is an outstanding piece of form, is better than she was able to show last time out when she was tried over a mile in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot. The filly is more effective over this trip and should get the solid pace she needs. The Broghie Man comes a long way for this and has to merit a check in the betting. However, he's got a little to prove in going beyond sprint distances so the back-to-form Raydiance may pose a bigger threat to the selection this time. Remarkable needs to bounce back from two poor but is highly respected on old form at least.
- Dan's Dream
- Raydiance
- The Broghie Man
