Always to be respected over this C&D (three-time winner over it) confirming his return to form last time when winning a race over C&D that he had won two year's previously. 2lb rise demands a little more but hard to leave out of calculations.

Failed to build on his Newcastle AW 6f win back in January off a 3lb higher mark and the evidence since is that he's better on a synthetic surface. Two recent turf starts have left him with questions to answer; faces a stiff examination in this.

The only 3yo in the field she has C&D experience having finished second here as a juvenile, running well to concede a penalty to a useful prospect. Below her best on the one appearance so far this year (6f, AW); handicap debut, mark not lenient.

Went with real zest when making all over 6f at Newbury to record his first win (only his second start on turf); justified support. More measured than when making the running before; up 7lb, open to further progress, still nicely weighted.

Verdict

One or two that make plenty of appeal in this not least YIMOU with his Newbury win being franked by the easy success of Three Little Birds at Bath on Wednesday, if he can settle in the same way on the front end a 7lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to stop him. Hart Stopper can never be ignored over this C&D but the handicapper may just have him now and the sole three-year-old in the field Promote looks a bigger danger on handicap debut. Zain Hana the other C&D winner in the field looks resurgent and any strong market vibes for her should be noted after her strong Windsor showing last time.
