Almost took advantage of lower turf mark when beaten just a neck over 1m½f at Epsom last time out. Only 2lb higher today which is still 7lb lower than his February AW win so every chance he can go one better.
Now only 1lb higher than his Pontefract win first time out over this trip after a rather inconsistent spell. Based on his second at the aforementioned venue in May off 5lb higher he can go well but less compelling efforts have followed.
Now 2lb lower than when winning at Nottingham in April but that due to six efforts since which haven't troubled the judge. Hard to say he's not well handicapped but better effort needed to take advantage.
7f winner for Mark Johnston early this year has changed hands twice since last seen finishing fourth at Carlisle back in May. Something of an unknown quantity now but perhaps the market can be a useful guide.
Lightly raced three-year-old has made the frame in all three 2019 starts. Handicapper again raises the stakes after his second over 1m2f at Yarmouth latest where he appeared a non-stayer. Perhaps stiff 1m will suit better and leading contender here.
Second on return at Newbury and subsequently over C&D latest when she looked to have been given plenty to do. Raised 1lb for that so should again be right in the thick of the action here.
Forecasts
Rock The Cradle (5/2), Rampant Lion (11/4), Quarry Beach (3/1), Juanito Chico (5/1), Casement (8/1), City Tour (20/1)
Title-chasing Oisin Murphy has a really good book of rides today and his mount here ROCK THE CRADLE is fancied to go one better having looked like he didn't quite last 1m2f at Yarmouth. Rampant Lion is still well treated based on his AW form so he rates an obvious danger although the selections' fellow three-year-old Quarry Beach isn't one to take lightly either.
