Picked up his second win of the year two starts back at Limerick (2m6f) in a 17 runner field where he was successful by 5L. There was very little wrong with his run last time at the same track when third of 10 over 3m. Has to be considered.

Was second of 11 last time at Tipperary over 2m7f where he was only beaten by ¾L. Has been successful this season already but that was over fences. Remains off the same mark as her recent near miss. One for shortlist.

Scored over hurdles early in his career at Clonmel (2m1f). Returned to hurdles last time at Cork (3m) after a stint over fences where he finished third of 17. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Recent run gives hope for optimism.

Broke his maiden at the back end of 2018 with success coming at Punchestown (2m4f). Has struggled in his appearances over fences this year. Returns to hurdles where he is 5lb higher than last run. Needs to prove his stamina.

Has been in excellent form this season with two wins coming from his last two starts. Was successful at Galway (3m½f) just two days ago in a 19 runner field. Has a 5lb penalty as he looks to follow that up over this shorter trip. Big chance.

Still looking for his first win under Rules after eight starts. Was sixth of 15 at Wexford (2m6f) on return to action back in May but has struggled in three chase starts since then. Cheekpieces on for first time. Others appeal more.

Point-to-point winner but has not come close to scoring under Rules yet. Was 13th of 19 last time at Cork (2m4f) on her handicap debut. Needs to improve a lot to be in the mix here on what is a step up in trip.

Still a maiden after 13 races. Was 12th of 15 here last time over 2m5½f on what was his first start for his new yard. Has not shown anything recently to suggest opening success is likely to come here.

Mr Smith (4/9), Global Racing (5/1), Holly Flight (6/1), Cappacon (8/1), Doldido (9/1), Gaillimh Abu (12/1), Toosey (12/1), Messie (16/1), Quarry Lil (16/1), Black Label (16/1), Louie The Second (16/1), High Five Oscar (16/1), Drimsree Lad (20/1), Whatever It Takes (25/1), Qui Bono (25/1)

Verdict

MR SMITH has been excellent form recently as he showed just a couple of days ago at Galway when winning a big runner field. He has a 5lb penalty here as he looks to follow up his recent success and that should not be enough to prevent him from recording a hat-trick of wins. Global Racing is on a march up the weights after his last two outings at Limerick but should go close once again, while Holly Flight went close off this mark last time at Tipperary and should at least give an equal account of herself once again which should see her in the frame.
