Shamardal gelding out of French Oaks runner-up. Cost €21,000 as a three-year-old and made winning debut over C&D in May, staying on nicely to score. Fair effort under penalty when third at Southwell last time and sets a decent standard.

Josr Algarhoud gelding out of maiden dam from family of Scottish National winner Hot Weld. Finished last of nine on only outing in Doncaster bumper in 2017 and will do very well to figure after long absence.

By French sire No Risk At All, out of unraced dam from jumping family. Makes debut here following wind surgery and with tongue-tie applied. Decent yard 1-4 with bumper horses here so well worth a market check in weak race.
Yeats gelding who is half-brother to two Flat winners at up to a mile. Under pressure some way out on debut in Sedgefield bumper in May, fading to beat only one home. Plenty of improvement needed to get involved.

Looks a tricky customer on evidence of first three starts. Unseated rider when swerved left on debut; in touch until swerved badly left at Sedgefield second start, and pulled up last time out at Hexham.
Debut for Midnight Legend gelding out of dam who won a bumper and over hurdles. Yard in fine form at present and has 22% strike rate here in bumpers. so every chance he can make his presence felt first time out.

Native Ruler gelding out of winning hurdler. Has weakened from 3 out in both bumpers so far and needs to show improved form to pose a threat to his rivals.

Forecasts

Elena Sue (11/10), Rory And Me (6/4), Bucko's Boy (2/1), Down To The Sea (7/2), Bonsai Bay (9/1), Chestnut Pete (14/1), Anticipate (33/1), Croftys Josh (100/1)

Verdict

In receipt of 13lb from previous C&D winner Rory And Me, the mare ELENA SUE is taken to build on the promise of her debut fourth at Ludlow in January. Rory And Me is very much respected and should test the selection all the way having run well when third under a penalty last time. Newcomers Bucko's Boy and Down To The Sea have promising profiles and it would not surprise to see them getting involved as well.
