Has not particularly enjoyed returning to turf after running reasonably well on the AW in the winter. Mark is very workable but dropped away quickly at Ayr last time.

Decisive winner of a seller here last month over 7f, getting a dream run up the rail. Well held from revised mark back in a handicap at Sandown since and looks vulnerable.

Mare without a turf win since 2017, though she scored twice on the AW last winter over 6f, including here. Starts out for new trainer and has gone well fresh before, ensuring she is worth some attention.

Helmet gelding is half-brother to a fair 1m winner and could be a possible improver now stepping out in a handicap for the first time.

Scored on debut for this yard at Bath (5½f, good to firm; 40-1) last month and showed that was no fluke with follow-up success at Salisbury three days later over minimum trip. Up 10lb this time but goes on any shortlist.

Nine-race maiden, has done best work in sprints to this point but will need to raise game to get off the mark this evening it seems.

16 starts on turf haven't yielded a win and some questions against him over this trip, but mark has dropped significantly and cannot be ruled out.

Hasn't shown enough in six starts to merit consideration, with latest effort being a well-held tenth over this C&D in June having gone off a 66-1 chance.

Verdict

Having looked a different proposition in gaining back-to-back wins at Bath and Salisbury for his new trainer, a chunky rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop BAY WATCH from bringing up a quick-fire hat-trick. He had plenty in hand last time and can leave the assessor treading water once again. Brockey Rise twice went close on turf earlier in the summer and merits a close look while Wotadoll has form fresh and joins handicap debutant Threefeetfromgold on the shortlist.
