0-4. Steps down to minimum trip on AW debut. Has a couple of pieces of smart form to his name, and may prove to be in a different league to this field despite his frustrating overall record.

Fast Company colt. Cost E42,000 as a yearling. Half-brother a couple of 5f winners. Yard have excellent record with newcomers, especially on the AW. Can get involved in uncompetitive affair.

Irish-raider who outran odds of 100-1 when sixth on debut at the Curragh (6f; good). Any improvement on that effort would entitle him to go close, and the betting should be monitored in regard to his chances.

Drops down to this minimum trip after failing to show a great deal over 6f/7f on both career starts. Makes AW debut. Would need to step up by some way on what he has shown so far in weaker events.

Ran well in a competitive affair over this trip at Hamilton (5f; good) on her latest outing. This has the look of an easier assignment, and she could well make it third time lucky on AW debut.

Well-beaten on debut over C&D when sent off at 200-1. Would be required to show abnormal improvement on the basis of that run, and others are readily preferred.

Verdict

The overall strength of the form that GOOD EARTH has next to his name entitles him to be a confident selection in this race. He has represented himself well without being disgraced in a couple of warm maidens and was third behind the talented Guildsman on debut. He can get off the mark at the fifth attempt on his AW debut. Feel Good Factor showed more in a competitive heat when dropped down to 5f recently, and should prove next best ahead of On Tick who surprised a few when shaping encouragingly in midfield in a Curragh maiden on debut. He's A Laddie is also worth a mention, given the appealing record his yard have with newcomers, especially on this surface.
  1. Good Earth
  2. Feel Good Factor
  3. On Tick
