Has won four times from 1m-1m2½f, on both soft and good to firm, two of them this season. Was not far away from this mark at York last time, and is entitled to enter calculations.
3-30 on turf. Returned from a third wind operation to be 3L fifth of six last time out at Ripon. That was more encouraging than his three runs prior to that. Drops 3lb and not written off.
Has won four times from 1m½f-1m2½f, on a sound or fast surface. Is becoming a victim of his own consistency, however, and looks too high in the handicap for win purposes, unless he can suddenly find a bit more.
All his turf wins have been on soft/heavy ground, so more rain would be a bonus. 2lb higher here than when last scoring at Hamilton in June (1m1f). Back in better form at that track again last time, and not ruled out.
Both turf wins have been on soft ground, the more recent almost a year ago at Epsom, when 2lb lower. Went very close from that same mark at Kempton last time. Up 2lb, but not ruled out.
Sole turf success was on good to soft at Newmarket (1m) in 2017, when 2lb lower. Has run with credit on three occasions this year without managing to get his nose in front, and the same may occur here.
0-7 so far, but produced a career-best effort when ½L second (front pair clear) in a Leicester handicap (1m2f, good) last time. Same mark here, and if she handles good to soft ground she has claims.
Showed some promise on debut in an Ayr novice event on sole run for Mark Johnston. Bettered that last time, on his second run for this trainer, when 1L third at the same venue (1m1f, good; first-time cheekpieces). Initial mark fair. Interesting.
Came good at the sixth attempt at Chepstow (1m2f, good; first-time visor) when scoring from a 6lb lower mark in June. Stayed on well when no chance with winner on last start over C&D from this mark. Should go close.
Took five attempts to get off the mark for John Gosden, who then sold him after success on the AW last November. Well held in two Flat and two NH runs for this trainer, and others preferred.
Showed some ability in all three runs in Ireland. Non-runner due to unsuitable ground (good) when recently entered at Doncaster. Sports hood for first run post wind surgery and handicap debut. Probably one to watch.

Hats Off To Larry (10/3), El Picador (10/3), Music Seeker (4/1), Kannapolis (7/1), Zzoro (8/1), Redgrave (10/1), Memphis Bleek (11/1), Junderstand (12/1), Ghalib (16/1), Jackpot Royale (16/1), War Eagle (22/1), Mount Tahan (28/1), Sauron's Eye (40/1)
Not an easy race to call. Music Seeker arrives in good form, but is high enough in the handicap now. Memphis Bleek is a very interesting handicap newcomer who looks to be on a fair mark and could go well. Also in good nick is EL PICADOR, who caught a tartar here last time, but again has a good chance from this mark. Junderstand may prove to be the biggest danger.
- El Picador
- Junderstand
- Memphis Bleek
