Took advantage of a marked drop in grade for his handicap debut (first-time cheekpieces) when making his class tell over 7f last time (Fashion Free ran fifth). Reverts to 6f but still 8lb well in under his penalty; will be hard to stop.
Not seen to best effect in either of her handicaps so far; raced close to a strong pace first time, hampered and stumbled behind Sir Arthur Dayne last time (7f). Has some 10L to make up on that one; modest enough but worth another chance back at 6f.
Started her nursery career on rather a harsh mark courtesy of an improved showing on her qualifying run. Still appears to be going the right way (ran well in first-time cheekpieces, nursery debut); needs to progress again to make her presence felt.
Nursery newcomer who ran as well as could be expected up in grade and back in trip to 5f last time at Newbury. Already tried over as far as 7f her best form has come at this trip although she remains a maiden; needs others to falter.
Second handicap debutant for this yard in the race (looks to have been brought along with this sphere in mind); all races have been over 6f. Not knocked about when last seen (third quick run); could well progress, watch for market positivity.
Failed so far to show any real progress after he was given a considerate introduction over 5f; very much looked a longer-term prospect then. Stepped up in trip on both subsequent runs (7f last time) hopes are now pinned on handicaps for improvement.
From a yard having an excellent season she showed a little more over 6f last time but by the same token travelled well enough to return to 5f. Bred to be a sprinter, she's been brought along gradually (handicap debut here); mark looks modest.
Bred to be better than she's shown so far; given three quick runs with this sphere looking to be very much in mind, makes her handicap debut. Not knocked about on her latest start over 5f; off a lowly mark, no surprise if she shows more now.
Showed little on her first two career runs when with Paul George; failed to step forward for a move to this yard last time when trying 7f (first time). Sprint handicaps to suit better (this is her debut handicapping); others offer stronger claims.
One of only four in this who have already run in a handicap (also tried in a seller); she showed little over 5f at Bath last time (handicap debut). On the face of her form so far looks a poor maiden; likely to struggle even in this grade.
Forecasts
Sir Arthur Dayne (8/11), Fashion Free (9/2), Chromium (8/1), Bacchalot (8/1), New Jack Swing (14/1), Luscifer (16/1), Es Que Pearl (25/1), Come On Girl (33/1), Port Noir (33/1), Red Cinderella (33/1)
Some of these will be candidates for winning a nursery in the future with New Jack Swing and Es Que Pearl two who would fit neatly into that category. SIR ARTHUR DAYNE will be hard to stop though after his emphatic win at Lingfield last time when he appreciated the drop in grade to score easily over 7f, this return to 6f shouldn’t trouble him even under a penalty. Fashion Free was well held behind the selection last time but there were some mitigating circumstances surrounding that run and she may get a little closer this time around.
- Sir Arthur Dayne
- Fashion Free
- New Jack Swing
