Idled in front when winning over C&D last time but was clear after the final fence and the new headgear might sort that out. That was his second C&D win and, from just a 3lb higher mark, a third success is highly likely.
A well supported favourite when winning here last time out and merits serious consideration despite the 7lb hike. He does have form to reverse with Creadan Grae though and needs a lot to go his way.
1-2 over fences and very possible he's got more to offer; needs to better his latest start when back over timber but this longer trip is in his favour and he's on a potentially lenient mark. One to consider.
Won a point-to-point for his former trainer before landing a brace over hurdles at this course; not disgraced back over fences last time and interesting he's being kept so busy. Another who merits checking out in the betting market.
Won over 2m here last July and ran as if in need of the outing when a well beaten third back at this course earlier this month. He's coped with this trip in the past and is well handicapped on old form. Dangerous to rule out.
Fourth behind Creadan Grae last time and was easily brushed aside when he was headed; he's very consistent though, and the 2lb lower mark will help. Has won over C&D so another who shouldn't be underestimated.
Forecasts
Amalfi Doug (5/2), Boy's On Tour (14/5), Creadan Grae (3/1), Sebastian Beach (7/1), Welcome Ben (15/2), Go West Young Man (14/1)
This revolves around CREADAN GRAE and how much more he has to give from what is currently his career highest mark. The manner of his latest C&D success does suggest he has a bit more to offer and, with the first-time cheekpieces in place to aid his concentration, he looks the percentage call in a tricky one to predict. Welcome Ben goes well here but has plenty to find with the selection, as does Boy's On Tour in spite of both having proven ability at this course. Better value might be presented with a small forecast play including Go West Young Man as the main danger on this occasion.
- Creadan Grae
- Go West Young Man
- Welcome Ben
