Struggled in two bumpers and tailed off last in a maiden hurdle at Listowel so remains one best watched.

No show in a couple of maiden hurdle before switching, unsuccessfully to bumper in 2017. Back from 20 months off latest when midfield at Ballinrobe and remains best watched.

Midfield in first two bumpers at Roscommon and Ballinrobe and looks a long-term prospect for respected connections.

Well held sixth in a 2m4f bumper at Leopardstown (good-to-yielding) on debut in December. Drop in trip looks likely to suit and top amateur booked to ride.
Dubai Destination newcomer out of an unraced sister to yard's smart 2m4f-3m hurdle/chase winner Berties Dream. Likely need further.
A half-brother to Samcro, he was unable to mount a serious challenge on debut at Towcester back in 2017. Finished lame debut for champion trainer at Punchestown in 2018 but second at Kilbeggan latest more like it and now has strong claims.
Vinnie Roe gelding whose dam won at this level and also prevailed on the Flat over 1m2f. Should come on for this outing and could make a smart hurdler in the future.
Beat Hollow gelding was keen enough on debut when fourth at Kilbeggan last month. Come on for that now although place most likely in deeper looking race.

Fourth of 18 at Punchestown last month on his third start the best of three quite promising efforts and has realistic each-way claims here now.
Al Kazeem gelding was a cheap purchase at Deauville last year and is probably best watched for a yard not known for their success in bumpers.
Was ninth of 18 at Punchestown (2m½f) on his debut and 14th of 18 subsequently at Cork so is best watched again here.

Duke Of Marmalade gelding out of a useful mare ran a more than respectable race on debut at Ballinrobe in May when only finding a Mullins runner too good and he ought to come on for that and make another bold bid.

Gelding by Mustameet ran a race with promise on debut at Ballinrobe but given fellow debutant Risk Factor was four places and over 16L ahead he is up against it here.

Forecasts

Risk Factor (5/4), Think Positive (5/2), Russian Diamond (7/2), Judex Lefou (14/1), Soldiers Hill (16/1), Hollow Sound (25/1), Mezyan (25/1), Shanwalla (33/1), Paranoid (33/1), Nameloc (40/1), Three Boyo's (50/1), Rightplacerightime (100/1), L'scroc (100/1)

Verdict

There was lots to like about the debut second of RISK FACTOR at Ballinrobe and Joseph O'Brien's gelding can go one better at the expense of Willie Mullins' fellow recent second Think Positive. Judex Lefou may prove best of the rest.
  1. Risk Factor
  2. Think Positive
  3. Judex Lefou
