Unseated rider at the first last October and that was his only run in past 14 months. Best form has been on softer than good and will need to bounce back at his best.
Had been going through a barren spell but returned to something like his best off a wind operation when scoring at Worcester last time. Up 8lb but has won off higher mark in the past and clearly back in form.
In cracking form since tongue tie was added and followed a game second to a subsequent winner in Ireland with a facile success at Uttoxeter last week. Clearly in peak form and a major player.
Confirmed his liking for this venue (two wins and a second from three visits) when hacking up last week and despite his penalty still finds himself 5lb ahead of the handicapper. Richard Johnson, who rode then for first time, retains the ride.
Successful in January and when last seen in April but they were over 2m4f and it's a long time since he was seen at this trip where his stamina will be truly tested.
Forecasts
Mr Mafia (5/4), Home Place (9/4), Kings Temptation (7/1), Wilberdragon (7/1), Alf 'n' Dor (12/1), Goohar (25/1)
A strong contest of its kind with four last time out winners and the pair who carry penalties for last wins last week are preferred with HOME PLACE, so impressive at Uttoxeter getting the nod over Mr Mafia. Wilberdragon was back in form last time but this looks a tougher assignment.
