Best effort when third over this trip at Worcester in May. Well backed last time off the back of a wind operation but was hampered and effectively brought down early on and that run easily forgiven.

Beaten when hampered and pulled up last time. Generally below par of late and losing run stretches back to September 2017 and becoming hard to predict.

Beaten in selling hurdle on latest but Worcester run over fences in May offered some hope and handicapper giving him a chance with 13lb drop since then. Interesting jockey booking.

First time blinkers were having positive effect at Worcester last time but fell four out when looking certain to play apart in the finish. If that hasn't left a mark, he looks sure to be involved.

Warwick win last September from 13lb higher mark but form has completely tailed off since then and connections have been trying different distances recently to no avail.

Chase mark has dropped 25lb in the past year but she hasn't looked like capitalising on it and still without a win in 16 goes over fences.

First run since joining this yard but has been badly out of sorts for a long time and new trainer is going to have to have a found a spark in him.

Did win a Point-to-point a year ago but chase form since has been non existent in three attempts and even in such a weak opener is hard to make a case for.

Forecasts

Tanrudy (11/4), Torhousemuir (7/2), Diligent (9/2), Grand Coureur (6/1), Jonagold (7/1), Barton Rose (7/1), Midnight Gem (12/1), Bob's Call (33/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these are out of sorts and if the fall he took at Worcester last time when threatening to throw down a challenge hasn't left a mark, TORHOUSEMUIR can gain compensation. Tanrudy came down early on last time through no fault of his own and looks an obvious threat while Diligent could gain minor honours for a yard who had a big price winner this week.
  1. Torhousemuir
  2. Tanrudy
  3. Diligent
