It was only a claimer he won (for Archie Watson) at Wolverhampton in March and since then, he's shown little in three starts for his current yard. Down another 3lb but plenty to prove at present.
First start for new yard after being claimed out of Mick Easterby's at Chester last time out. Trip fine but new trainer needs to turn him around, as he's been on the decline for a while now. Others preferred.
Twice a winner on the all-weather but yet to score on turf, and two recent efforts on it not that encouraging. Soft ground possibly an excuse last time, but all the same it was a moderate effort, and she'll need to do much better here.
Ran a bit better than finishing position suggested at Chester last time (travelled well, trapped wide when challenging) and starting to look fairly handicapped after his win at Kempton in March. Not discounted.
Found the golden highway near the rail to score at Lingfield last time out, but that was only a seller and he goes here without either the tongue tie or visor he wore there. 9lb rise looks plenty too, and on balance, others make more appeal.
Came good at Lingfield last August but then worryingly not seen out until reappearing at Kempton in June, where she ran respectably. May be fitter here but still a little to prove, and best watched at the moment.
Just one win in 23 turf starts, and no win machine, but did pop up at Chelmsford three starts ago and fairly enough handicapped if he can get it together. Overall record suggests that's unlikely, though, and best to look elsewhere for the winner.
Came good at Brighton last time out, winning under a length after hanging quite badly late on, but that was a step back in the right direction at least. This is a tougher contest and 6lb rise demands more too.
Regressing quickly at present and showed no signs of stopping the rot at Newbury on latest start. Does have a C&D win to his name but that's nowhere near enough to make him of interest at present.
Forecasts
Bring Us Paradise (9/4), Oloroso (11/4), Chikoko Trail (11/2), Roller (7/1), Another Boy (8/1), Wild Dancer (10/1), Chevallier (16/1), Delicate Kiss (20/1), Perfect Symphony (25/1)
One or two of these would be a danger if bouncing back to form, but it might be worth giving OLOROSO another chance after a decent effort at Chester where he perhaps didn't quite get the rub of the green. Bring Us Paradise at least comes into this in good form but this is a different task than the one he faced when winning at Brighton. Nevertheless, he has to be respected. Chikoko Trail and Perfect Symphony can fight out the minor spot.
- Oloroso
- Bring Us Paradise
- Chikoko Trail
