Useful sort on the Flat who has scored twice over hurdles already and comes here looking for an obstacles hat-trick having run well at Chester on the level last time. Makes his handicap hurdles debut (mark looks reasonable); must be respected.
Looked a different proposition on his handicap hurdle debut off the back of a five-month break when winning at Huntingdon in May off an 8lb lower mark. Still has something to learn but equally can progress also; bright future in handicaps.
Useful hurdler/chaser who has been lightly-raced of late with his latest two starts over hurdles being below-par (looked rather laboured last time). Well treated off this mark if he did come back to life but faces a some in-form rivals; tough ask.
Really well handled by this yard he's won four of his five starts for them continuing his upward curve with them last time out at Newton Abbot (2m3f). Won with a little bit in hand (gets a 5lb rise); sure to give another prominent showing.
Despite a Taunton novice win back in February and a handicap debut last time when she shaped well at Uttoxeter (form franked already) she's still a little unexposed. Just pushed up 1lb for that effort she may be seen to better effect at 3m.
Yet to win for this yard having been seen over fences for the most part (hurdles form of a similar level). Had a wind op prior to this year but that doesn't appear to have brought him forward; blinkers on now after a moody display last time.
Forecasts
Global Tour (15/8), Thibault (3/1), Red Royalist (7/2), Organdi (13/2), Stage Summit (12/1), Our Three Sons (12/1)
A good race for the grade and the suspicion is that one or two of these can improve beyond this level.Red Royalist comes here seeking a hat-trick over hurdles entering handicap company for the first-time; based on his Flat form/rating he’s not badly weighted. Global Tour has gone from strength-to-strength since joining the Fergal O’Brien yard and he warrants plenty of respect as he bids for his fifth win after scoring at Newton Abbot last time. THIBAULT is the one who has the greatest scope for improvement despite looking a little rough around the edges when winning last time, he can handle an 8lb rise in the weights. The mare Organdi isn’t out of this either and deserves a mention.
