Improved appreciably since joining this yard (2112) having his hat-trick bid foiled last time but losing nothing in defeat at Hexham (2m4f, soft). Followed up his Carlisle win with a C&D victory prior to his last start; should go well again.
Has very rarely run a bad race since joining this yard; enjoys the test this unique course provides (1212 here for this yard). Makes a quick return to action having produced a career-best over 2m6f here on Saturday; major chance again off same mark.
Three-time winner over 2m6f around here his latest win coming on his penultimate start (had signalled a return to form four days earlier) off a much-reduced mark. Only a fair effort last time; now reunited with rider who suits him best of late.
Like many who join this yard didn't take long to find her form scoring in a falsely-run 3m Aintree handicap hurdle. Still looks unexposed especially at staying trips (has a turn of foot also); trainer good record at gaining back-to-back victories.
Relishes these long-distance handicap hurdles landing two of his last three such events the latest after a wind op at Fontwell over 3m2f. Up 7lb for that win he'll need to up his game again to win off a career-high mark, not written off though.
Makers his stable debut (sold for £6,000 in May) having shown some fair form for Richard Spencer although he does look fairly one-paced. Not seen for a fair while he might just need this off a mark that doesn't allow him a lot of leeway.
Scored for his previous yard (Tom Lacey) over a staying trip at Newton Abbot just over a year ago, produced two sound efforts after that. Failed to come close to matching that form since in all bar one run for this yard; below form last time (C&D).
Forecasts
Justatenner (7/4), Coillte Eile (2/1), Boruma (5/1), Point N Shoot (6/1), Cairnshill (10/1), Aptly Put (14/1), David John (66/1)
No doubt about the positive start that Coillte Eile has made for the Newland yard a phenomenon that’s not unusual and with the trainer having a fine record with horses following up wins she must enter the equation. However, she doesn’t have any experience around this unique course and JUSTATENNER who has a fine record around this course since he joined this yard is taken to go one better than his effort here on Saturday over a shorter trip. Brian Hughes teaming up with Boruma again must be seen as a positive while Cairnshill is another to have experienced a win around here and must go well.
