Born To Sea filly, half-sister to 1m4f winner. Veered right leaving stalls on debut run at Killarney earlier this month. Worth another chance and not easy to dismiss.

Ruler Of The World filly is half-sister to five winners over middle distances. Didn't show much on debut at Bellewstown having been a shade unruly going to post. Open to improvement but much more needed.

Canford Cliffs filly, half-sister to a useful middle distance performer. Dam a 5f winner. Nearer last than first on debut in a 16 runner Navan maiden over 1m2f last month. Others preferred.

Forecasts

Scorched Earth (15/8), Mater Matuta (2/1), Proxy (9/2), Dundory (7/1), Griffyndor (25/1), Katie's Reign (25/1), Floating Around (33/1), Zathura (33/1), Farnese (33/1), Battledore (50/1), Everyhouronthehour (66/1), Knuckles Mcginty (100/1), Maccliff (100/1), La Capacite (100/1)

Verdict

It appears that trainer Jim Bolger may have found an ideal opportunity for the Godolphin-owned MATER MATUTA to get off the mark at the seventh time of asking for connections. The filly has been running well in defeat recently and can see off the attentions of the Roscommon third Scorched Earth, the Tony Martin-trained Dundory and Proxy, running in the Khalid Abdullah silks.
  1. Mater Matuta
