Irish raider was below par last time but twice a winner over hurdles this year. Represents a powerful trainer and jockey combination and likely to bounce back in this company.
Had been struggling this year until running on well to win a two mile seller at Uttoxeter last time. Stays this trip well and looks on a good weight if building on that run.
Finished in the first three on his last four starts (two over fences) and won a seller at Taunton in February. Stable in fine form and rates a challenger back over the smaller obstacles.
Shaped well on his stable/GB debut over hurdles having won twice in Ireland last year for his former trainer. His last run is best forgiven after a lot went wrong before and during the race and a better show expected.
Flat form was modest to say the least with his hurdles form not being an awful lot better. Well held on first start after rejoining this stable and easy to look elsewhere.
Lost her way on the Flat since winning a claimer at Winsor in autumn of 2017. Tailed off on this month's hurdling debut when sent off at 100/1 and hard to make any sort of case for.
Forecasts
Rakhine State (13/8), Show And Go (9/4), Doubly Clever (9/2), Vancouver (9/2), Yorkshire Star (28/1), Empresario (33/1), Unsuspected Girl (50/1)
DOUBLY CLEVER is favoured by these terms, ran on strongly when winning a similar contest last time and stays this distance well. Rakhine State will be popular for his connections and this represents a good opportunity to gain a third success this year. Vancouver and Show And Go are the other two with realistic hopes.
