Fell at the last when set for a midfield finish on stable/hurdles debut at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival in April. That was a good quality maiden hurdle and this is easier, so it will be interesting to see how he goes on return from 89-day break.
Didn't show a great deal of improvement from hurdles debut when seventh in a 16-runner affair at Bellewstown (2m; good) at the start of the month. Penalty is offset by 7lb claimer, but shouldn't cause any trouble on all he has shown to date.
Failed to beat a single rival when last of 18 on the flat at Fairyhouse (1m4f; good to yielding) last time. Poor hurdles run the time before that, but did show some ability when fourth on hurdles bow at Cork (2m; good to yielding) in May.
Does need to banish the memory of latest effort when trailing in last of 10 on the flat at Killarney (1m; good). Trio of runs over hurdles have been quite promising though, & this is a weaker assignment than the ones he has been tasked with to date.
Improving with racing, but was unable to justify favouritism when sent off 2-1f and beaten just over 20-length into third at Clonmel (2m; good) last time. Likely to be competitive once again though, and not completely ruled out.
Tikkanen gelding making his rules debut. Full-brother to 2m6f-3m2f chase winner and a half-brother to a 2m6f-3m jump winner. Likely to get better with racing and when stepped up in trip, so is not one to be interested in until then.
Managed to complete and beat one rival on rules debut at Kilbeggan (2m; good) in a bumper last time. However, he was tailed off from a fair way out then, and a major revival is subsequently required.
Posted three similarly poor runs in maiden hurdles since making his rules debut in March. Never better than midfield recently at Tipperary (2m4f; good). Look elsewhere for more realistic propositions.
Never involved at any stage of the race and showed nothing on rules debut at Cork (2m; good) in a bumper. Subsequently impossible to fancy and is best watched.
Robin Des Champs gelding. Cost E25,000 as a yearling. Should have a future in the jumping game, and he is related to the dam of Glens Melody. Fascinating contender on debut. Watch the betting.
Knocking at the door in recent months with three consecutive second-placed finishes. This is probably his easiest assignment in recent starts, and he could well get off the mark at the fifth attempt over jumps.
Invincible Spirit mare. Cost just E1,000 at Goffs November 2017 sale. Doesn't really have a jumping pedigree though, so unsure what to expect on debut over hurdles.
Hurdles debut wasn't devoid of promise when she was fourth at Wexford (2m; good to yielding). Outran odds of 50-1 then, and could play a similarly minor role on second hurdles start if showing some more progress.
Unraced son of Dylan Thomas making hurdles debut. Half-sister to 3m hurdle winner. Should have a future in this sphere, but hard to know what to expect on first career start. Watching brief advised.

Another maiden hurdle which has received a healthy turnout. One of the newcomers Its My Deal has the profile for jumping, and is by a sire who has produced some jumping greats in Robin Des Champs, so it will be interesting to see how he goes on debut. Another name to note is Parabellum who fared well up to a point before falling at Fairyhouse over Easter, and should be competitive if none the worse for that fall. Brog Ahaon took another step forward despite being beaten a long way when third at Clonmel last time, but the selection is RAZOUL who can finally get his day in the sun after a string of runner-up efforts in better quality contests of late.
- Razoul
- Brog Ahaon
- Parabellum
