Four wins last year, including over C&D, but well held on Doncaster return. Raced too freely in blinkers when sixth of 15 to Agincourt at York last time, and may well do better with the headgear left off now.
Lightly-raced for her age she was well suited by the strong gallop when winning at Salisbury over 7f last June. Off a year before a respectable fourth of 8 to Bungee Jump at Chepstow last month, and should be better for that outing, so respected.
Won twice in nurseries last year, with her best effort coming over 6f here. Unplaced in three runs this season, but shaped better than bare result at Chelmsford last time, and has fallen below her last winning mark. Interesting.
Finished a respectable fifth on her handicap debut at Newmarket last month, but was beaten further by Jadeerah when equal-third to that rival in a Chelmsford novice last time. Handicapper has given her a chance, but more required, nonetheless.
Hasn't progressed since landing a 7f novice at Redcar in November. Has run respectably to be placed in a trio of handicaps in May/June, but has looked half-hearted, and remains to be seen whether blinkers will improve her finishing effort.
Standout effort in handicaps when 2L third of 11 in a soft-ground event at Newbury last month, but well below form on quicker going there last time, and looks opposable on balance.
Forecasts
Dashed (9/4), Eula Varner (3/1), Gentlewoman (4/1), Silca Mistress (6/1), Porcelain Girl (15/2), Rosamour (10/1)
PORCELAIN GIRL doesn't help herself by racing freely, but she has been shaping better than her form figures would indicate this season, and is lower in the weights now than when gaining the second of her nursery wins last season. Gentlewoman may benefit from a return to 7f after making most over 1m last time, and has claims from a reduced mark, while Dashed is good enough to win handicaps, and may look more resolute now tried in blinkers, while the loss of headgear is probably a positive for Silca Mistress, who was inclined to over-race in blinkers at York last time.
- Porcelain Girl
- Gentlewoman
- Silca Mistress
